Critter is not a word we use in Australia. The first time I heard anyone use it seriously in North America was Laura, when talking about Australian animals as being "critters". I love the word as it is really American and I think it applies well to wombats and possums, but can't imagine it absorbing into my everyday speech.
Critter Country is more of an offshoot of Frontierland and we only briefly visited there. Davy Crockett's Explorer canoes only run on weekends and again, *shock horror* Splash Mountain was closed all day. We decided to skip Winnie the Pooh's Adventures and continue on. It struck me as odd that the Americans would stick honey-eating Pooh in Critter Country. I don't know if his British sensibilties should be offended at being lumped in with the snakes and racoons, or if Tigger or Christopher Robin could even together successfully fight off an alligator.
